The Department
of Education expects to receive an 80% response rate on this study.
The Department will closely monitor the responses and will report
to OMB midway through the survey administration if the response
rate looks likely to fall significantly below the target. If
necessary, OMB and Education will discuss changes to the survey
design that would increase responses rates.

The data will assess the support needs
of Curriculum and Principals in each of seven states: Colorado,
Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and
Wyoming. The survey will focus on their needs for support in the
various areas: obtaining, understanding and utilizing educational
research, in-service needs, developing leadership and management
capabilities in the staff, improvement plans and interventions. It
will also determine the perceptions of the importance for McREL to
fund such initiatives in support of these areas.
