of the library-related surveys at both ED and IMLS and updates the
progress made for each survey in terms of electronic
reporting.

This survey is proposed as an annual
data collection as part of a Federal-State cooperative system of
data collection. State Library Agencies (STLAs) are the official
agency of a State charged by State law with the extension and
development of public library services, and they receive broader
legislative mandates affecting libraries of all types in the States
(i.e., public, academic, school, special, and library systems). The
data are collected entirely electronically, and the survey is
designed and coordinated by a Federal/State cooperative system. The
survey will provide State and Federal policymakers....
