Abstract: CONGRESS HAS MANDATED REPORTS ON THE NATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATIONA PROGRESS AND THE NAEP TRANSCRIPT STUDY. THIS GRANT PROGRAM WILL ENCOURAGE RESEARCHERS TO STUDY THESE DATA AND EXPAND OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL AND STUDENT CHARACTERISTICS AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. GRANT APPLICANTS WILL BE UNIVERSITIES, EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS, AND CONSULTING FIRMS.
