The CCE System will use smart pathing to leverage some of the information collected in the
Retirement application path to determine what supplemental information is required. For
instance, when an individual indicates that they worked in the railroad industry, the CCE path
will bring up questions from the SSA-671 to collect information about any pensions from the
Railroad Retirement Board (RRB).
If individuals answer “Yes” to
RRB, then the subsequent
questions are displayed for
technicians to ask applicants.

Here, the claimant answers “Yes”
to having received
unemployment or sick leave in
the past 18 months. The
technician gathers information of
the RRB employment.

Similarly, if an individual indicates they are (or were married), we will collect information about
the spouse and RRB.
