The Electronic Benefit Verification
Internet service, BEVE, provides beneficiaries and Supplemental
Security Income (SSI) recipients the convenience of requesting a
proof of income statement through the Internet. Beneficiaries and
SSI recipients often require a proof of income to obtain housing,
food stamps, or other public services. The information we collect
is used exclusively to provide the proof of income to the
beneficiary or SSI recipient, after verifying the identity of the
requester. The respondents are Social Security title II and
Medicare beneficiaries, and SSI recipients.
