RE: Response to 7-27-10 OMB Passback for NAEP 2011 Wave II Clearance
It appeared from the text in volume I that there were a couple of new items added this time. Could you identify which items those are and send me the cognitive testing report on those items.
The new writing and math questions that will be used in NAEP 2011 (per the 2011 NAEP Wave 2 submittal) were piloted during NAEP 2010 (under the 2009 Wave I clearance; 1850-0790 v.24). In the 2011 NAEP Wave 2 submittal, in addition to all of the writing questions (the cog lab report is attached), the following questions were newly developed and tried out in cog labs:
Three new questions for the KaSA (Knowledge and Skills Appropriate) mathematics student questionnaires (listed on page 2 of this document and questions 22-24 in Part 1a and questions 19-21 in Part 2b of the Volume II materials). Note, the same questions are to be administered at both grades 4 and 8. The cog lab report for these question try-outs is included as an attachment.
Three new questions for the MCBS (Mathematics Computer Based Study). These are listed on page 3 of this document and are questions 19-21 of Part 2c of the Volume II materials). The cog lab report for these question try-outs is included as an attachment.
