OMB approves this one-year extension with no changes. However, we note that in the intervening years since this study was first approved, OMB and IES have together developed a different understanding than the one embodied here on several issues such as appropriate incentive levels and confidentiality statements, so that what is reflected here is not reflective of current practice.

This is an request to extend by one year the expiration date for the data collection instruments for the Impact Evaluation of a School-Based Violence Prevention Program so that extent data collection can be completed. Both a curriculum-based program and a whole-school program are being implemented together so that the impact of a hybrid model of school-based violence prevention can be tested, as was recommended by experts in the field of school-based violence prevention. The beginning of data collection was delayed due to diffculty in site recruitment. The extension will allow the contractor to complete the third and final year of extent data collection.

This is a request for an extension of an existing collection with no change from the previous collection, however, the previous number of respondents, responses and burden hours was figured incorrectly in the original submission and was migrated over to Rocis with the incorrect numbers. Although this is a request for a one year extension with no changes from the current collection, I am correcting the hours and responses to reflect the correct numbers in this submission.
