The Study of Teacher Preparation in
Early Reading Instruction will assess the extent to which school of
education coursework related to elementary reading is aligned with
the National Reading Panel (NRP) Report as well as assess new
teachers' preparation to teach the five essential components of
reading as identified by the NRP report and specified in the
Reading First program statute.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
