Approved as
amended by ED's 11/3/94 memorandum to OMB. In addition, E shall
meet the following conditions: -- Recent final regulations for the
Pell Grant program have eliminated the need for a signature on
electronic versions of the SAR or related correction documents
starting in AY 1995-96. This will reduce burden for institutions
significantly relative to the AY 1994-95 process; however,
institutions will incur additional, one-year burden during AY
1995-96 due to the temporary requirement that they send copies of
the reprocessed SAR to students (ED will send SARs directly to
students starting in 1996-97). ED has committed to making these
changes known the financial aid community, and to students through
schools. This shall occur as soon as possible and appropriate, and
in a sufficiently expansive fashion to ensure understanding of the
changes by schools an students. ED shall also submit an inventory
correction worksheet as soon as possible to adjust the burden
figures for these changes. -- When the National Student Data System
is able to record complete histories of student loans at all
schools, ED will remove the loan lim certification (also applies to
the grant cert. given NSLDS grant info. -- ED shall indicate on any
future advance SAR information rele all draft changes to the SAR
are contingent on OMB approval. note that changes to certifications
based on final verific remain contingent on the publication of
those rules.
