Abstract: FDA ESTABLISHED THE COMMITTEE ON PATIENT EDUCATION (COPE) IN ORDER TO HELP ENCOURAGE VOLUNTARY EFFORTS ON THE PART OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ABOUT PRODUCTS REGULATED BY FDA. THE COMMITTEE IS PROVIDING AN FDA FOCAL POINT FOR FDA/PRIVATE SECTOR ACTIVITIES IN EDUCATING CONSUMERS ABOUT PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.
