Subject: NonSubstantive Change Request – U.S. Repatriation Program Forms (OMB #0970-0474)
This memo requests approval of nonsubstantive changes to the approved information collection, U.S. Repatriation Program Forms (OMB #0970-0474).
Background
The U.S. Repatriation Program (Program) provides temporary assistance to U.S. citizens and their dependents who have been identified by the U.S. Department of State as having returned, or been brought from a foreign country, to the United States because of destitution, illness, war, threat of war, or a similar crisis, and because they are without resources immediately accessible to meet their needs. To support the provision of this assistance through the routine and emergency components, the Program has fourteen forms that were most recently approved January 30, 2024.
Overview of Requested Changes
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has updated two of the fourteen forms (RR-01 Emergency Repatriation Eligibility Application and RR-05 – Repatriation Repayment and Privacy Agreement) to comply with Executive Order 14168, Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government (Defending Women). The remaining twelve forms are already in compliance and do not require changes.
Time Sensitivities
Due to ongoing nature of the Program whereby repatriates sign RR-05 to receive temporary assistance, a response is requested as soon as possible.
