The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) intends to collect data to capture the challenges and unique opportunities of administering human services programs in rural contexts. This descriptive study will collect data from 12 case study communities (sites) to provide ACF with a rich description of human services programs in rural contexts, as well as reveal opportunities for strengthening the capacity of human services programs to promote the economic and social wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities in rural contexts. The data collected in this study are not intended to be generalized to a broader audience. The study team do not intend for this information to be used as the principal basis for public policy decisions.
