This is a request for the American History and Civics National Activities program to use the 1894-0006 generic
application. The he purpose of this program is to promote new and existing evidence-based strategies to
encourage innovative American history, civics and government, and geography instruction, learning strategies,
and professional development activities and programs for teachers, principals, or other school leaders,
particularly such instruction, strategies, activities, and programs that benefit low-income students and
underserved populations. This program is authorized under section 2233 of the Elementary and Secondary
Education Act of 1965, as amended (ESEA).
