The primary use for information
gathered through this clearance is to allow voluntary partner and
customer surveys to identify strengths and areas for improvement in
current policies, programs, operations and services provided by
OER/OD/NIH and the other components of the NIH that support and
promote research conducted by the extramural scientific community
to benefit the Nation’s health. Obtaining information about the
satisfaction of partners and customers is consistent with EO 12862,
as well as a good business practice.

We are reinstating this
collection to show an increase in the annual burden hours (291
additional hours) and a decrease in the annual number of
respondents (875 fewer) from the previously approved collection.
Planned qualitative studies requiring a longer duration resulted in
a slight increase in the burden hours. The number of respondents
was decreased based upon the number of respondents in the previous
extension.
