It represents a set of genomic coordinates annotated identically in RefSeq and Ensembl databases
It represents high quality protein sequences that are annotated identically in RefSeq and Ensembl
databases
It represents high quality protein sequences, given that a significant portion of CCDS data is manually
curated
It is a restricted dataset of canonical protein annotations
I prefer CCDS data over the data in its component databases (RefSeq and Ensembl)
I was not aware of these facts about the CCDS database, but I use it anyway.
