Chief, Project Clearance Branch
On behalf of the National Children’s Study, NIH is requesting a non-substantive change to the Neuropsychosocial Measures Formative Research Methodology Studies for the National Children’s Study (NICHD) as approved by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) on June 15, 2012.
We request that the burden hour be adjusted to reflect the actual burden hours requested. We noticed that the clearance was approved for 162,000 burden hours (54,000annually) and the Supporting Statement A was from March 13. Following a conversation with Margo Schwab in which she expressed concern for the high amount of burden hours, our team revised Supporting Statement A to decrease the number of total burden hours to 58,500 (19,500 annually) and sent it to Margo via the NIH Project Clearance Branch on April 27. Unfortunately, the proper documentation was not received by OMB and as a result the higher burden amount was approved by OMB.
We would like to make certain that the most accurate documents are on file and that the NOA reflects the proper number of burden hours. Attached is the revised supporting stamen and the system has the corrected amount of burden submitted for your review.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
