A VFD drug is a drug intended for use
in animal feeds which is limited to use under the professional
supervision of a licensed veterinarian. This regulation establishes
the requirements for the distribution and use of VFD drugs and
animal feeds containing VFD drugs.
Estimated burden has increased
to reflect an update in the number of respondents and the approval
of 2 drugs under the VFD program. This is explained more fully at
Q15 of the supporting statement.
