Justification for Change ARC Form

The Bureau has reviewed the current Advisory Board application and determined that it
would be beneficial for the Academic Research Council to have its own application separate
from the other Board and Councils. The attached form which was previously approved by your
office is attached. We are simply breaking out the ARC section so not to impose unnecessary
burden on applicants. While the changes are relatively minor in nature, it will significantly
streamline the process for the majority of applicants that choose to apply to this group. The
proposed changes are listed below.

Proposed Changes
1) Removed “Part I: Affiliations, Representations, and/or Positions with Boards, Advisory
Councils, or Similar Groups” section.

Purpose: This section was not relevant to this group.

2) Removed “question 2- Identify the statutory membership categories that are applicable to
you.”
Purpose: Not relevant to this group.

2) Removed “question 3 - Identify your area of expertise.”

Purpose: Not relevant to this group.
