It is believed that the burden per response is actually decreased by the use of the WAWF electronic system. However, the burden has seen an increase largely believed to be caused by the wider use of WAWF and improvements such as pre-population of most receiving report data elements. These current numbers also represent a more accurate picture of the use of this system while prior estimates were based on the expertise of DCMA technical specialists.
