Collected biometric and biographic
information is forwarded to the DoD ABIS where it is stored,
managed, retrieved, referenced, and shared with approved partners
to enable timely identification or identity verification on persons
of interest to the DoD. As such, the DoD ABIS is considered a
mission enabler for force protection, intelligence, physical and
logical access control, identity management/credentialing, and
detention and interception operations.
