Addendum to Supporting Statement for Form SSA-2490-BK,
Application for Benefits Under a U.S.
International Social Security Agreement
20 CFR 404.1925
OMB No. 0960-0448
SSA-2960
We are removing Form SSA-2960 from the clearance package.
Foreign governments do not need to collect information to provide the required information to SSA on the SSA-2960. U.S. Totalization agreement foreign country social security agencies’ receive Form SSA-2960 from SSA requesting specific information. The foreign country social security agencies share specific information they have on file.
OMB assessed the form, and they are exempting Form SSA-2960, because the information is already on file with foreign governments.
Minor Revisions to the Collection Instrument
We are revising the PRA statement to reflect our current boilerplate language. The current language, which dates back to the last reprint of the form, is now outdated.
SSA’s Office of the General Counsel is conducting a systematic review of SSA’s Privacy Act Statements on agency forms. As a result, SSA is updating the Privacy Act Statement on the first page of the form.
