The collection of information associated with Animal Feed Regulatory Program Standards (AFRPS) was approved by OMB on January 30, 2014 and assigned OMB Control No. 0910-0760. Since the approval of the document, FDA has been working to develop the implementation and auditing programs for the AFRPS. As we have been undergoing development of the audit criteria, there was a recognition that certain statements in the AFRPS could cause confusion and allow for improper interpretation of certain requirements. As this program is new and States have not started to implement the standards, we felt it was necessary to make the identified changes to remove ambiguity and allow for proper interpretation of the requirements. In addition, we noted a few typing errors that were also corrected. The proposed changes will not alter the burden estimates originally submitted with the PRA clearance as these requirements were already accounted for when the burden estimates were submitted.
