SUBJECT: Change Request of OMB # 0925-0602 Expiration Date: 03/31/2016 – CRTP Survey

The intent of this memo is to request changes of the approved form OMB # 0925-002 – CRTP Survey. Circumstances for the request are described below.

The current CRTP alumni survey, approved by OMB, (0925-0602) specifically targets alumni for only the CRTP Program. As this program has evolved into the new Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP), the survey has been modified to collect information from alumni of both programs. The same categorical information is being collected: contact information, program information, degree and professional training information and current profession information. Questions in the above mentioned categories have been reworded and some questions have been added and removed to update the survey.

The MRSP builds upon the long history and core mission of the NIH intramural program to prepare future medical researchers and clinician-scientists for leadership roles in biomedical research. It blends elements of the previous Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)-NIH Research Scholars Program and the NIH Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP). The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) is a comprehensive, year-long research enrichment program designed to attract the most creative, research-oriented medical, dental, and veterinary students to the intramural campus of the NIH in Bethesda, MD.

The requested change and update does not change the approved data collection or anticipated burden hours. Attachments include a tracked change comparison and screen shot of the updated survey.
