Dear Mr. Uppala,

I am writing in response to your comments from January 19, 2011 regarding the National Center for Education Statistics’ application for a three-year clearance for the College Affordability and Transparency Explanation Form (CATEF). I’d like to thank-you for your interest in the proposed data collection and also for serving as an IPEDS keyholder.

In your comments, you noted that the “IPEDS data collection process is clear to us. The agency is well organized and their requirements are reasonable. We are satisfied with the services they provide.” The IPEDS team greatly appreciates your support and we expect the CATEF data collection process to be just as clear and well organized as the IPEDS data collection. The proposed CATEF data collection will include many of the same system features as the IPEDS data collection to make the process as user friendly as possible.
