Minor Revisions to the Collection Instrument

To minimize the burden on the public, SSA reduced the current average burden associated with the iAppeals form. The use of both electronic versions increased while the use of the paper form decreased.

SSA is making the following revisions:

To increase the use of our electronic services (eServices) by claimant representatives, we published the Requiring the Use of Electronic Services by Certain Claimant Representatives Final Rules on September 12, 2011. The rules were effective on October 12, 2011 and state that claimant representatives, who request direct payment on a matter, have the affirmative duty of using eServices as they become available and when notified through future Federal Register notices.
