The purpose of this information is for
SAMHSA to collect preliminary information on State health care
reform efforts. This process is intended to determine where States
are in their planning and to help identify what technical
assistance, resources, information and other support States will
need as SAMHSA and the field move toward 2014 ACA implementation.
This information will also be made available to other States.
Specifically States are being asked to discuss health reform
activity and needs in the following areas: Coverage, Access,
Integration, Accountability, Provider Capacity, Involvement of
Tribes, Evidence, Data and Reporting, Communication and
Collaboration, Technical Assistance and Other Resources, Health
Information Technology, and Service Activity
. Due to the urgency and
short time frames associated with the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
implementation, HHS does not have sufficient time to follow the
normal notice and comment periods related to the normal OMB
approval process.
