The proposed data collection
activities will inform the Office of Population Affairs (OPA),
policy makers, parents, prevention practitioners, and researchers
about adolescents' perspectives on parent-child communication about
sex, which will help to guide the design of effective campaign
messages. It will also help the evaluation staff to interpret the
quantitative results of the evaluation (conducted via surveys)
under OMB control number #0990-0311--e.g., possible reasons for
adolescents' responses to survey questions may be suggested by the
more in-depth information obtained in the focus groups.
