Preaward survey forms are completed by
Government contract administration personnel based on information
obtained from prospective contractors through plant visits, phone
calls, or correspondence. They provide a uniform method of
collecting the data necessary to analyze a firm's ability to
perform the contract.
Though the information
collection requirement in the FAR remains unchanged, an increase
was necessary to accommodate for more oversight when determining
responsibility for both prospective vendors as well as current
contractors.
