Distillers Co-Products for Feed – Pre-Testing
Generic Clearance of Survey Improvement Projects (0535-0248)
The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is preparing to conduct testing of the Distillers Co-Products for Feed survey. NASS will be conducting both cognitive interviews and a mail out – mail back testing. The two different methods of testing are scheduled to be conducted in four States (Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Virginia). The test States were selected due to the availability of the different types of distillers co-products for feed and the different categories of animals (cattle on feed, beef cattle and calves, dairy cattle, hogs and pigs, broilers, hatchery supply meat type layers, table egg layers, hatchery supply egg type layers, pullets for laying flock replacement and turkeys) being raised in these States. The cognitive testing involves conducting 5 interviews in each of the States and the mail test involves contacting 15 respondents in each of the test States.
