The collected information will be used
to support entry of a minor's name into the Department's Children's
Passport Issuance Alert Program on behalf of concerned U.S. parents
or their appointed agents, who are asking the Department to notify
them of any application for issuance or renewal of a passport for
their children. The program is particularly aimed at circumstances
in which one parent is concerned about abduction of his/her
children abroad by the other parent. The program will provide a
means of notification to a parent if a passport has already been
issued or if the Dept. has received an application for issuance or
renewal.
