SUBJECT : Request for OMB Approval of the Application Package for Grants

Under the Title V, Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program (OMB 1840-0745)

The Office of Postsecondary Education is requesting that the Department and OMB approve, a reinstatement of the application package for grants under the Title V, Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Program. The application package will be used to collect information to be used during the competitive cycle of the program as required by the program legislation. The current HSI Program application package was allowed to lapse. This allowed for the preparation of an application package that is consistent with the changes necessitated by the passage of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA).

The revised information collection will also be more closely adaptable to the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) performance measure results, as required by law. The attached Form OMB 83-I and supporting documents are being submitted as required.

Please review the attached information package at your earliest convenience. For additional information please contact Peter Fusscas at 202-502-7590 or by email at Peter.Fusscas@ed.gov or Carnisia Proctor at 202-502-7606 or by email at Carnisia.Proctor@ed.gov .
