Justification for Change
0704-0450
The Department of Defense requests to revise the burden estimate for the Utility of Test Preparation Guides and Education Programs in Enhancing Recruit Candidate Performance on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) collection. This change in burden will increase the total annual responses and decrease the time to respond. This change will increase the costs to both the respondents and the Department.
This change is burden is requested because enlistment rates have increased dramatically due to the nation-wide economic downturn. The rate at which the ASVAB is being administered has increased about 50% over the 2007 counts that were used to plan the study.
In addition, the Department requests to expand the study to all states and for an additional twelve months. Originally, the study was planned for five states and a twelve month period.
