SSA is revising its regulations on
representatives of applicants or recipients of Social Security
benefits. The multiple changes we are listing in the way
applicants/benefits appoint representatives and the way
representatives do business with the agency are designed to
accommodate changes in representatives' business practices,
increase use of the Internet, and improve SSA's operational
efficiency. The respondents for the regulation sections with public
reporting burdens are representatives and the Social Security
benefits applicants/recipients they represent.
