Appendix G – Recruitment Flyer for Focus Groups

The Orange County Vanguard Center invites you to participate in our study of local community needs in preparation for the National Children’s Study! We are interested in learning about community needs that will impact how we conduct the National Children’s Study in Orange County.

You will receive $35 for your participation.

You are eligible to participate if:

You are a parent or prospective parent
You live in Orange County

What will this study involve?

You will attend a focus group with up to 12 other parents or prospective parents for about 1.5 hours.
We will ask the group a series of questions related to concerns in your community and potential community responses to being invited to participate in the National Children’s Study.
We will use a digital recorder to record the focus group discussions so that we can later transcribe them and use the group’s feedback to help us in our planning for the National Children’s Study.
You will be asked to complete a two-page anonymous questionnaire that will ask about your family’s income, race/ethnicity, education, and religion.
