Sec. 18(d)(2) and 18(1) of the FDI Act
requires nonmember banks to obtain FDIC consent to
establish/operate a branch in a foreign country or to make foreign
investments and authorizes the FDIC to impose conditions and issue
regulations.
The burden increase of eight
hours is a correction of a typographical error in a previous
submission to OMB. No other change in burden is requested. However,
to present the burden analysis in ROCIS more clearly, FDIC has
broken out the reporting and recordkeeping aspects of this
collection into two separate ICs.
