The collection of information will be
used by FRA to ensure that covered railroads establish and
implement -- by specified dates -- noise monitoring, hearing
conservation, and audiometric testing programs to protect their
employees against the damaging and potentially dangerous effects of
excessive noise in the workplace.
This is a new collection of
information due to changing agency regulations. The total annual
burden for this new information collection of 44,178 hours is an
increase in burden reflecting a program change. (Please note the
following: At the NPRM stage of this rule, OMB took no action and
did not assign a currently valid OMB number. OMB did ask, for any
future submissions, to please indicate the collection as new and
reference OMB comment number 2130-0562. Accordingly, FRA does
so.)
