The purpose of this standard and its
information collection requirements is to provide protection for
employees from the adverse health effects associated with
occupational exposure to benzene.
There is an adjustment increase
of 14 hours as a result of changing the methodology to calculate
the number of inspections, employers will be requested to provide
access to records. Also a 2 hour decrease resulting from fewer
employers submitting records to the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Costs decreases resulted
from a decrease in the cost of a passive dosimeter sample, and
fewer records being transmitted to NIOSH.
