A variance is
granted to BJS to continue collecting limited race data on the
perceived race of offenders. OMB will be very interested in
learning the results of the study being conducted by BJS and the
Census Bureau to examine the interviewer write in entries for
respondents who had difficulty providing an answer to the question.
The results should be described in the next clearance request.
