The National Direct Deposit Initiative
is a collaborative effort between the Social Security
Administration (SSA) and Financial Institutions (FI)/banks to
encourage Title II beneficiaries to receive their payments through
automated direct deposit. There will be an exchange of information
between the banks and SSA to identify the target Title II
beneficiaries. The FIs will then send enrollment forms to these
beneficiaries encouraging them to enroll in the Direct Deposit
program. The respondents are participating FIs and target Title II
beneficiaries.
