The Help America Vote Act (HAVA)
mandates the verification of newly registered voters and places
certain requirements upon SSA in terms of verifying information to
be used for each State's voter registration process. Individuals
registering to vote must provide their driver's license number to
the State election agency. If they have no driver's license they
must supply the last four digits of their SSN for verification. The
State election agency will forward the new registrant information
to the State MVA for verification by SSA.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
