The initial RAID program was developed in 1998 with the authorization by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) and the National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB). Under this program NIH makes NIH resources available to request extramural investigators with the goal of speeding the proces of therapeutic, preventive and/or imaging agents to clinical testing.
