CDC is promulgating new regulations
concerning the possession, use, and transfer of select agents and
toxins as an Interim Final Rule under 42 CFR Part 73. Under the new
regulations, entities are required to follow measures designed to
ensure the health and safety of their workers and the public.
Entities must register with CDC; identify individuals who require
access to these agents and toxins; train these individuals;
establish safety, security, and emergency response plans; and
maintain records of all such entities.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
