The Annual Census is a voluntary data
collection that provides States and others with statistics on the
changes in the utilization of State and county mental hospitals by
age/gender/ diagnosis. These data measure service utilization and
de-institutionalization trends in the United States and in each
State. Effective with the 2000 Census, information is collected on
the race/ethnicity of additions and resident patients according to
diagnostic grouping.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
