streamlining/E-Grants effort. SSA should transition this
application to the government-wide standard application package,
anticipated to be available to agencies by October, 2003. If it is
not appropriate for this package to be included in the streamlined
government-wide application process, SSA should set forth the
reasons in the next submission for PRA review. If SSA makes
revisions consistent with this initiative, they must be resubmitted
for PRA review.

the Commissioner in selecting grant proposals for funding based on
their technical merits. The information is needed to assist the
Commissioner in evaluating the proposed activities as to the
soundness of their design, the possibilities of obtaining
productive results, the adequacy of resources to conduct the
activities and the similarity to other activities that are being or
have been conducted.
