Assessment of the Use of
Special Funding for Research on Type 1 Diabetes Provided by the
Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the FY 2001 Consolidated
Appropriations Act

collection (Request for a new OMB Control Number)
This is a proposed survey of NIH grant
recipients who were supported by a special funding program for
research on the prevention and cure of type 1 diabetes. The survey,
which will be distributed and collected electronically, will ask
grantees about the impact of these grants on their research and
careers. The results of this survey will be one source of input for
a statutorily mandated report to the Congress on the use of the
type 1 diabetes research funds.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
