This information
collection request is approved consistent with ACF's revised
supporting statement & e-mail memo dated 03/25/02. As agreed,
ACF will not use the results of this study to make any inferences
as to the success of any Tribal TANF program or method of service
delivery. Rather the results of the report will be used to describe
the experiences of tribes that have chosen to operate or not
operate such programs. Further, the results of the case studies
will not be generalized to other tribes or approaches to service
delivery.

The proposed data collection
activities will produce valuable research information for use by
tribal governments in deciding whether and how to implement an
effective tribal TANF program, or to chane an existing program in
order to enhance its potential for success. In addition, the
findings will be used by policymakers at federal, State and local
levels in determining the need for chanes, if any, in the current
policies and procedures which impact on tribal
communities.
