The goal of the Agricultural Health Study is to establish and evaluate a large prospective cohort to be followed for 10 years or more to identify and clarify the role of agricultural exposures in the development of specific cancers, including lung, breast, prostate, colon, brain, non-Hodgkin's, leukemia, and others. The AHS is in its third year of follow-up data collection on this now-established prospective cohort of 89, 189 farmers, their spouses, and commercial applicators of pesticides from Iowa and North Carolina.
