The information collected during this
study will be used by the Department of Education and other members
of the education community, including administrators from the New
American High Schools (NAHS). Specifically, OVAE requires a tool to
monitor and document the implementation of the NAHS approach, as
well as to assess the validity of the selection criteria it uses to
identify new NAHS schools. The data will also help measure reform
practices in high schools, and thereby provide vital information to
both the agency and the wider audience of education policy-makers.
