OMB agrees with
ATSDR's assertion that the data and results generated from the
surveys in this ICR are not generalizable to the population. In
addition, OMB agrees that ATSDR's assertions that "the information
collected in this proposed project is for internal management
dissemination only" identifies the appropriate audience. Finally,
it is our understanding that the information will only be used by
ATSDR staff in planning and resource allocation. Should the Agency
decide to apply for an extension of this collection, it should
submit a report indicating program and resource allocation changes
resulting from the information obtained under this collection.
Detailed survey methodology (i.e. those areas that the supporting
statement indicates will be refined by a contractor) shall be
submitted to OMB for inclusion in the docket as soon as it is
available, but no later than the distribution phase of the survey.
Future collections should contain complete survey design details at
the time they are submitted to OMB. Any significant changes from
what is currently approved would result in a fundamentally
different collection, and thus would not be covered by this
approval. Such collection would need to be submitted to OMB for
approval.

The purpose of this study is to
evaluate and improve the effectiveness of ATSDR health promotion
and intervention products, programs, and services among priority
populations. These populations include individuals, health care
providers, health department officials, industry representatives
and members of community organizations who live within two miles of
National Priority Sites (NPL). ATSDR will use the data from this
study to assess whether health education interventions are
influential determinants in the environmental disease prevention,
health promotion and public health practices of
individuals...
