Section 479 of title IV-E of the
Social Security Act directs States to establish and implement an
adoption and foster care reporting system. The purpose of the data
collected is to imform State/Federal policy decisions, program
management, and respond to congressional and departmental
inquiries. Specifically, the data is used for short-/long-term
budget projections, trend analysis, and to target areas for
improved technical assistance. The data will provide information
about foster care placements, adoptive parents length of time in
care, delays in termination of parental rights, and placement for
adoption.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
